Slime Texture Guide
★ = PUTTY EGG EXCLUSIVE TEXTURE
Note: I don’t use shaving cream, corn starch, baking soda, laundry detergent, baby oil, or too much water in any of my recipes.
☆ = THIS RECIPE USES IMPORTED GLUES
BUTTER/SLAY
chiffon - similar to mousse. less creamy and more clay heavy but still feels very light.
☆ clotted cream - mix of 3 glues and clays including paper clay. a thick, creamy, chewy and stretchy fluffy slay texture. feels just like clotted cream.
☆ crème chantilly - similar to mousse and whipped cream but feels much more lighter than chiffon. probably the lightest putty egg texture. bubbly, airy, soft, smooth, stretchy, inflatable.
☆ crème fraîche - mix of 3 glues and clays. a thick, chewy, glossy, creamy and inflatable stretchy fluffy slay texture! feels just like crème fraîche!
☆ custard - mix of 3 glues including wood glue and clays. a thick, jiggly, wobbly, creamy, glossy and inflatable stretchy fluffy slay texture. feels just like custard.
frosting - glossy, silky, soft, plushy, pillowy, inflatable, stretchy like taffy. looks like cream frosting.
☆ honey cream - similar to honey mousse but without the instant snow.
honey mousse - fluffy, whipped, creamy, squishy, poofy, light, airy, soft, stretchy, inflatable. similar to mousse but uses different ingredients.
mascarpone cheese - mix of 4 glues including wood glue and clays including paper clay. a semi-thick, rich, creamy, chewy, glossy and stretchy fluffy slay texture. feels just like mascarpone cheese.
mochi puff - thick, super soft, smooth, stretchy, inflatable. feels like mochi and soft serve ice cream. the main base for most clay diys. [ 12/2020 ] original recipe has been reformulated due to glue discontinuation.
mousse - looks like meringue but the final texture is like mousse. fluffy, whipped, creamy, squishy, poofy, light, airy, soft, stretchy, inflatable. this texture uses some instant snow.
★☆ mousse cream - similar to mousse but creamy. looks like meringue/taffy but the final texture is like mousse whipped cream. glossy, fluffy, whipped, creamy, smooth, squishy, poofy, light, airy, silky, soft, stretchy, inflatable. this recipe has no instant snow.
☆ mozzarella cheese - mix of 3 glues and clays. a thick, chewy, creamy, clicky, chubby, bouncy and stretchy inflatable fluffy slay texture! feels just like mozzarella cheese!
paper slay - white glue + paper clay. semi-thick, poofy, silky, soft, smooth. slower stretch.
☆ pudding - mix of 2 glues including Korean glue and clays. a thick, jiggly, wobbly, glossy and inflatable stretchy fluffy slay texture! feels just like pudding!
taffy -white glue version of frosting texture. glossy, super chewy, stretchy, thick, holdable. chewier than chewy. feels like laffy taffy/hi-chews.
★☆ tofu - yogurt + custard pudding. glossy, creamy and jiggly. makes huge bubble pops. best for table play. one of the most unique textures in my shop!
☆ whipped cream - mix of 3 glues and clays. texture feels a bit different from the other “whipped cream” textures. it has a unique gummy chewy pull when you stretch it. light and fluffy texture just like whipping cream when you inflate it. bubbly, poofy, airy, soft, stretchy, fluffy, inflatable. applying lotion to hands is recommended when playing with this texture because it does have a sticky feeling. also known as “new fluff”.
wood glue frosting - wood glue thickie + frosting. pokeable, holdable, glossy, super thick, creamy.
wood glue slay - matte, super thick, creamy, pokeable. lots of bubble pops. a table play texture.
★ yogurt - mix of 3 glues and clays. a semi-thick, rich, chewy, glossy, light, poofy and stretchy inflatable fluffy slay texture! feels just like yogurt.
CHEWY/JIGGLY/THICK
chewy - glossy, chewy, semi-thick, pokeable, stretchy.
★☆ custard pudding - thick, jiggly, wobbly, glossy, slow stretch, pokeable. can make huge bubbles when you flip it. a table play texture. feels like custard pudding. not the same as my “custard” or “pudding” textures because it has no clay. one of the most unique textures in my shop!
★☆ froth - opaque milky texture with special foaming properties. glossy, creamy, coated, semi-thick, semi-jiggly, bouncy, squishy, semi-stretchy, pokeable, inflatable. super foamy and lots of bubble pops the more your stretch it. a table play texture. one of the most unique textures in my shop!
★☆ panna cotta - A cross between my “custard pudding” and “water” texture with other special ingredients. It also feels like one of those jiggly mochi squishies when you poke and squeeze it! This texture got a slower stretch, so it‘s better for squishing and create table bubble pops.
thickie - 100% glue all. glossy, super thick, pokeable, holdable, slow stretch.
wood glue chewy - wood glue + chewy. glossy, thick, chewy, creamy, holdable, pokeable, slow stretch, inflatable. a table play texture.
☆ wood glue froth - wood glue + froth. glossy, thick, jiggly, bubbly, bouncy, squishy, pokeable, inflatable. foamy with some bubble pops the more your stretch it. a table play texture.
wood glue thickie - wood glue + glue all. glossy, thick, creamy, pokeable, holdable, slower stretch.
CLEAR
★ water - non-sticky, non-stretchy, clear, jiggly, bouncy, smackable. looks and feels like water/jello. a table play texture. even though this is called a water slime and feels like water, it barely contains any water and it wont melt like any clear slimes! one of the most unique textures in my shop!
CRUNCHY
★ bubble bomb - smooth tiny plastic clear bubble beads. coated, non-sticky, non-irritating, crunchy, holdable. one of the most unique textures in my shop!
candy bomb - plastic quartz chips + plastic clear sugar beads. looks and feels like pop rocks candy. coated, non-sticky, super crunchy, inflatable, holdable. may irritate hands. also known as sugar quartz scrub.
fimo crunch bomb - thick fimo slices. made with super clear coated clear glue.
slushee - flat plastic opaque slushee beads. looks and feels like rice. coated, non-sticky, non-irritating, super crunchy, inflatable, holdable. made with either clear or white glue base.
sugar scrub - plastic clear sugar beads. looks and feels like extra coursed sugar. coated, non-sticky, super crunchy, inflatable, holdable. may irritate hands.
SNOW FIZZ
chiffon fizz - butter snow fizz. similar to mousse fizz texture but with more clay and less soft snow fizz. super light soft chiffon butter snow fizz texture. sizzly, airy, puffy, inflatable.
cloud fizz - butter snow fizz. mochi puff + snow fizz. fluffy, dry and sizzly. super easy to fluff up and drizzle like a cloud slime. also known as a mochi fizz.
crème chantilly fizz - same texture as crème chantilly but with added soft snow fizz.
fluff fizz - butter snow fizz. fluffy, sizzly, soft, poofy, airy, inflatable, easy to fluff up. also known as a butter fizz. similar to the mousse fizz but uses different ingredients.
★ jelly puff - jelly slime + soft snow fizz. soft, inflatable, stretchy, crispy, sizzly. the texture is denser than jelly sorbet texture. feels crispier like a snow fizz slime. when clay is added, it’s called a butter jelly puff.
☆ jelly sorbet - jelly slime + less snow fizz. sorbet-like texture. soft, inflatable, stretchy, semi-sizzly.
★☆ mousse cream fizz - butter snow fizz. mousse + soft snow fizz. similar to mousse fizz but creamy. a super light soft and creamy mousse butter snow fizz texture. sizzly, airy, puffy, inflatable. feels softer and lighter than fluff fizz. this recipe uses no instant snow.
★ mousse fizz - butter snow fizz. mousse + soft snow fizz. a super light soft mousse butter snow fizz texture. sizzly, airy, puffy, inflatable. feels softer and lighter than fluff fizz. this recipe uses some instant snow.
★ putty puff - soft snow fizz + bingsu beads. super crispy, crunchy, crackling, inflatable. may irritate your hands.
★ slush fizz - a soft fizzy version of slush.
SNOW ICEE
jelly - very soft, bubbly, bouncy, puffy, squishy, inflatable, stretchy, holdable. thicker than slush.
slush - very soft, bubbly, bouncy, puffy, squishy, sizzly, inflatable, stretchy. feels like an icee but dryer. a table play texture.
